SANJAYA'S MOTHER LOVES TO SMOKE THE WEED; STILL HAS HOT SISTER

[This is a blog post by American Idol drunk Paula Abdul. If you want to read more of her drunken ramblings, please go to her blog!

OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG@!@!@#@!!!!!

I cannot believe the news that just dropped today. SANJAYA'S MOTHER IS A MARIJUANA DEALER!!!!!

Sanjaya's Mom & Boobs

YES, you heard that right: SANJAYA'S MOTHER SMOKES AND SELLS WEED OUT OF HER HOUSE!!!
Was the mom of Sanjaya Malakar popped for growing marijuana? According to American weekly magazine 'The National Enquirer' they have unearthed legal records that show that Sanjaya Malakar's mom was indeed popped for pot. The magazine will report in this week's issue that Malakar's American-born mother, Jillian Blyth, was busted in Pierce County, Wash., in February 2005 after neighbors reported smelling marijuana and noticed a large vent on the garage roof, according to court records obtained exclusively by The Enquirer, this week's issue details.

According to the report - cops discovered 310 marijuana plants, growing lights -- and Sanjaya's then 17-year-old sister Shyamali. Next, the busty Shyamali told officers that her mom was at another location in nearby Federal Way, Washington, and when the cops got there, they found a second marijuana-growing operation!
I can't believe this. I mean, Sanjaya's voice is as smooth as silk...HOW COULD HIS MOTHER PUT HIS BEAUTIFUL VOICE BOX IN SO MUCH DANGER!!!!

People don't realize that drugs are bad and can do serious damage to your body if you do too much. That's why I stick to LEGAL DRUGS. Pills are not bad because they are PRESCRIBED BY DOCTORS. If a doctor gives it too you it isn't bad.

But weed? Marijuana? You might as well put a gun to you head and pull the trigger because that's what you're doing. That's what illegal drugs do. They kill you.

The truth is, if you really want to do drugs see a Psychologist, or just push yourself down the stairs. If you see a Psychologist they can give you stuff like Xanax, Zoloft, Viagra, and awesome drugs like that. Let's say you break your neck and go to a real doctor. There they'll give you things like MORPHINE, OXYCONTIN and other opiates that will surely get YOU F***ED UP!!!!!!

I just hope Sangina isn't a drug abuser himself. There are not many people like me that can do drugs and stay normal. It takes talent and years of practice.

Let's hope his mom is weed-free, too. SANJAYA DOESN'T NEED ANY MORE BAD INFLUENCES IN HIS LIFE!!!

Rehab Really Does Work!

Amy Winehouse might not believe in Rehab, but for Eddie Van Halen and Britney Spears it worked wonders...at least superficially. I am sure their insides are still made up of a black tar like substance. Hey! That means celebrities are just like ME!

Across The Universe - The Movie

I just recently heard about this project and I’m still not entirely sure what I think about it. From what I gather it's part drama, part love story, part war movie and lots of musical...or so imdb says.  The musical aspect interests me the most as it seems one of the main themes revolves around the songs of the Beatles in the 60s.  The trailer actually looks kind of interesting, but I'm always wary of movies like this as they're either done really well (see Moulin Rouge) or really poorly (see Velvet Goldmine). The film is directed by Julie Taymor and stars Evan Rachel Wood, Bono, Salma Hayek, Eddie Izzard, and Jim Sturgess! No word yet on the soundtrack but chances are it's full of Beatles covers.  Across the Universe hits theaters on September 28th, 2007. Check out the trailer below. (Via Popbytes)

The title of the movie is taken from one of the best songs the Beatles ever wrote. Check out these covers of "Across The Universe." All of them are pretty top notch but I particularly enjoy the Bowie and Lennon version.

Rufus Wainwright - Across The Universe [MP3] / [YouTube]

David Bowie and John Lennon - Across The Universe [MP3]

Fiona Apple - Across The Universe [MP3] / [YouTube]

Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) - Across The Universe [MP3] / [YouTube]

Suede - Across The Universe [MP3]

10cc - Across The Universe [MP3]

Yo La Tengo - Across The Universe [MP3]

The Beatles - Across The Universe (Let It Be Naked version) [MP3]

MY NAME IS PAULA AND I'M GOING TO RELEASE MY OWN SEX TAPE!

This is a post by Paula Abdul. If you'd like to read more of her, mosey on down to her psychedelic blog.

JUST KIDDING! LOLOLOLOLOLLLLLLLLLLLL

While I'm sad that Leggy Scarnato was voted off American Idol last night, I think we all have to remember what's important here -- AMERICAN IDOL SEX TAPES!!!!!

Yes, it seems to have happened and I and the American Idol producers are NOT THAT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

Second season Idoloror Oliva Mojica has just released a sex tape on the internet.

I just don't get it. Why do these woman DO THIS TO THEMESELVES!!!!

IT IS DISGUSTING THAT THESE GIRLS put themselves out there like this -- LIKE PIECES OF MEAT WAITING TO BE FLUFFED AND PUFFED BY A GUY WHO DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THEM!!!@

I don't think that sex is bad. When everybody and their mother was accusing me of having sex with that cute American Idol guy last season (or the season before? -- i need another pill -- GULLPPPP) they were calling me a SLUT A HOEBAG AND A LITTLE SLUT AND LOTS OF OTHER THINGS I WOULDN'T DARE REPEAT HERE.

That was a little extreme. BUT IF YOU THIN K ABOUT IT I DIDN'T RELEASE A SEX TAPE NO I DIDN'T. i am comfortable with my sexuality so much that i don't have to show my punanni and talents to the world. I don't. And YES I AM VERY TALENTED.

But this Oliva Mojica girl...WHAT'S HER DEAL? Does anybody evenn remmber her? She walks around in her sex video like a little tramp -- DARE I SAY THAT'S BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF TALENT THAT SHE IS MAKING THIS SEX TAPE???

DARE I SAY IT? DARE IIIIIIIII?

The producers are thinking about taking down her picutures from the American Idol website.

I APPLAUD YOU AMERICAN IDOL PRUDUCERS! YOU HAVE TO STAND UP TO THESE SLUTS TO MAKE SURE NONE OF THE GIRLS THAT WATCH OUR SHOW COPY HER SEXY ANTICS!!!!!

We cannot let American Idol BE RULED BY A BUNCH OF SLUTS.

Some called Haley a slut. JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE LEGS, IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU A SLUT.

RELEASING A SEX TAPE WHE3RE YOU LOOK LIKE A LITTLE GUTTER-TRAMP NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A SLUT.

please people. WE NEED TO STOP THIS MADNESS.

STOP AMERICAN IDOL CONTESTANTS FROM RELEASING SEX TAPES.

DUMPED!

Ok. This is a tough one to stomach because I really thought these two were in love.  I mean they were together for so long!  At the risk of sounding jaded, if these two can't make it work what hope do any of us have?  Sorry. ok. Pull yourself together man. Deep breath.

After three weeks, four states and two countries Jonny Borrell singer for the incomprehensibly popular UK act Razorlight, has apparently had enough of Kirsten "Baby Dinosaur Teeth" Dunst.  It
has been reported that Borrel dumped Dunst this past weekend to return to the sweet embrace of his old girlfriend Fabiola Gatti.  You know what really bothers me about this?  The fact that Borrell was even in the position to dump Dunst.  The guy has tried unsuccessfully for two records to rip off the Libertines and his band is about as fun live as an infected abscess between your toes.  Yeah, they're that bad.  Anyway I guess BDT is pretty broken up over the whole thing.  I wish I could feel bad for her, but that's what you get when you fall for a skuzzy, no-talent hack. Harsh words I know, but try and make it through this song and you will see where I'm coming from.

(PS - Kirsten, I happen to find smaller than average teeth quite attractive so shoot me an e-mail and maybe we can get together sometime.  I am about as good a songwriter as Johnny so we already have some common ground!)

Robert Smith of the Cure to work with Ashlee Simpson...finally.

It was reported over the weekend that Robert Smith is thinking about a collaboration with Ashlee Simpson for her new record.  At first I thought that this was just plain weird, but then I got to thinking and considering Smith's track record it kinda makes sense.  I mean he has collaborated with Korn, Junior Jack [MP3] and other seemingly strange partners in the past.  I guess this news made me realize that not all of our music heroes (even the ones who wrote some of the best songs ever) are not necessarily "cool" by our current standards.  In all honesty it makes you wonder what really is cool and who sets the standards.  I mean if the guy that wrote albums like Disintegration, Head on the Door and Pornography thinks that Ashlee Simpson is a worthy collaborator, who are we to disagree?  In any case here are some other, err, interesting collaborations:

Timbaland feat. The Hives - Throw It On Me.mp3

Nelly Furtdao feat. Chris Martin - All Good Things Come To An End.mp3

Johnny Cash feat. Flea - I'm A Drifter.mp3

Placebo feat. Michael Stipe - Broken Promise.mp3

And finally...

The Beach Boys and The Fat Boys - Wipeout [YouTube]

New LG Music Player The Indie Buzz!

- So I meant to post this on Monday, but I didn't. Deal with it.  We have a new MusicPlayer featuring some of the best bands we saw down in SXSW, including Pop Levi, Kings of Leon, Simian Mobile Disco and more!  It is packed full with jams and one of the best mixes we've had in a long while, so play it on repeat for a couple of days/weeks.

- Maybe you are hipper than I am, but I just heard about this site called DFA Radio Mixes featuring MP3 DJ Sets from James Murphy, Tim Sweeney, Optimo and more.  If you like the dance musics then you gotta check out this site. Essential for your next party.  Oh, and please invite me to said party. I am lonely.

- MUSIC GOSSIP: WTF?! How does Courtney Love end up making out with this guy? / Ok we all know Lohan has some strange taste in men, but even Petey Wentz is better than this guy. His eyes. They frighten me. / This rapper has always given a lot of love to the Notorious B.I.G.  Apparently he wants to look like him now.

- Umm, so we were going to run a feature on the worst album covers of all time, but Perry Farrell and Satellite Party beat us to the punch.  No one will beat this. Ever. The guy is either on acid or just plain bananas.  Look s like something a stoned high school kid would make.  Not that I know what it's like to be stoned...or in high school for that matter.

Summer Festivals 2007!

Spring is in the air, music is sounding good and beers with limes finally make sense again.  So it only seems right that we get to thinking about all the summer (or late spring) music festivals just around the corner that many of you will not be attending.  But instead of sitting around being bitter at the world that your job doesn’t understand that time off requests for awesome concerts are “valid”, we thought we'd give you some insight into the best of the best this festival season.  And who knows, perhaps some of you readers might have the good fortune of actually attending one or all of these festivals.  Jerks.

Oh, it turns out there are also rock festivals in Europe but people often die at these things (remember the Pearl Jam incident?) and they're pretty much the same as our festivals except they invite Panic at the Disco! and Fall Out Boy and half of the original Smashing Pumpkins.  So we'll shun these and stick to the shows in our own backyard (Yes, we consider the whole United States to be our backyard and while we're thinking about it, Get Off The Lawn!)….  Also some festivals like Lollapalooza and Virgin Fest don't have their full ineups announced, so we'll have to add them later.  Here we go!  And if do attend any of these make sure to send us pics of all the awesomeness you saw!

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival - LG RATING: A

Where:  Indio, California

When: Friday, April 27th – Sunday April 29th

How Much: $85 1 Day, $249 3 Day (All Sold Out)

The Good: Catch new material from The Arcade Fire, Interpol, Kings of Leon, Klaxons and The New Pornographers, not to mention sets from The Decemberists, The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem, The Good, the Bad, and The Queen, Justice, Pop Levi, Jarvis Cocker and Simian Mobile Disco. Plus reunions from The Jesus and Mary Chain, Happy Mondays, Travis, and The Lemonheads.

The Bad: Besides the lack of an awesome headliner (don’t give me that Rage Against the Machine and/or Bjork crap!) and a few smaller duds like Damien Rice, Julieta Venegas, and Fountains of Wayne, I think Peeping Tom and Kaiser Chiefs are the only really crappy bands on the agenda...Tell England to stop sending us their crap, we know your holding out on something better!

WTF?: Willie Nelson? Love him but can’t imagine him squashed between sets of The Roots and Paul Van Dyke.  And when will they stop inviting Ozomatli to these things?

Small Stage bands not to miss: Gogol Bordello might be on a small stage night one but they will be worth the trek, as is the case with Andrew Bird and Pop Levi on night two and Grizzly Bear anf the Klaxons on the final evening.

Great Moments From Past Coachella Festivals: Daft Punk, Art Brut, The Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, T.V. on the Radio, The Go! Team, Eagles of Death Metal

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sasquatch Music Festival - LG RATING: B-

Where: George, Washington

When: May 26th-27th

How Much: $55-$75 per day

The Good: They got The Arcade Fire too (these guys are everywhere these days).  Plus The Hold Steady, Interpol, Spoon, Neko Case and Clinic.

The Bad:  Not too into Manu Chao, but that may have to do with the fact that you can’t go into a “hip” restaurant without hearing them as the soundtrack to your dinner.  Also kind of crap – Ozomatli, Michael Franti and Spearhead, The Polyphonic Spree and Ghostalnd Observatory.

WTF?: Bad Brains on the Sasquatch main stage while The Dandy Warhols play the Wookie stage.  (There is a Yeti stage as well)  Also weird?  Sarah Silverman is hosting both nights.

Small Stage Bands Not TO Miss: Check out The Blow, The Slip, M.I.A. and Two Gallants.

Great Moments From The Past: Beck, Hail, The Shins, More Hail, Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Good: Well we have Wilco, The National, Hot Chip, The White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon, The Decemberists, The Hold Steady and Spoon.

The Bad: Unfortunately with Bonnaroo, the bad is extremely jammy.  Watch out for Ben Harper, Gov’t Mule, and Bob Weir and Ratdog.  Not to mention, PTI's personal enemies The String Cheese Incident and Nixon's arch rivals the Flaming Lips.

WTF?: The Wild Magnolia Mardi Gras Indians are playing…and so are some band named The Police.

Small Stage Bands Not To Miss:  DJ set from Girl Talk, the very entertaining Dr. Dog, the beautiful Feist, and old folkie Richard Thompson.

Great Moments From The Past: Andrew Bird (this is really good), Radiohead,  Sonic Youth, Cat Power, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, My Morning Jacket.

WTF?: The price…awesome, the bands…solid.

Great Moments From The Past: Mountain Goats, Spoon, Liars, Devandra Banhart, The Walkmen, The Walkmen and Man Man (awesome), Destroyer.

Pitchfork Music Festival - LG RATING: A- (for the price alone!)

Where: Chicago, Illinois

When: July 13th-15th

How Much: $50 for all three days!

The Good: Sonic Youth performing Daydream Frickin’ Nation, not to mention Grizzly Bear, Cat Power, Of Montreal, Iron and Wine and everyone’s favorite cocaine rapper Clipse.

The Bad: Jamie Lidell…uh…That’s it.  And he's not even really bad.

WTF?: The price…awesome, the bands…solid.

Absolutely Do Not Miss: Anything.  Seriously, if you live near Chicago, there should be no reason that you're not at this thing…Well, maybe if you have no ears.  But even so, we bet there will be hot girls there and hot chicks love, errr, deformaties.

Great Moments From The Past: Mountain Goats, Spoon, Liars, Devandra Banhart, The Walkmen, The Walkmen and Man Man (awesome), Destroyer.

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival - LG RATING: B

Where: Manchester, Tennessee

When: June 14th – 17th

How Much: Starting at $184.50

La Blogotheque does the National! LG gives you MP3s!

It seems like all we had in the Music Blog this week was American Idol gossip and Jon Mayer talking like a crazy man.  While I find that to be quite entertaining, I thought you might like some actual music to enjoy this weekend.  Here it goes...

- One of the best things on all of the internets in the French site La Blogotheque where they get bands to perform "Les Concerts A Emporter," or for the rest of the world "Take Away Shows."  They have had some pretty amazing performances from bands like the Islands, Cold War Kids, Guillemots, Kooks, Jens Lekman and many more playing songs in some pretty strange places.  Their latest featured performance is from the National and it is crazy good.  Picture the south of France at night with weird lighting and lots of wine.  It is a must watch!  Check out both "Start A War" and "Ada."  One of the best things I have seen in a long time.  Also head over to Stereogum for a new track from the band's forthcoming record Boxer. Highly Recommended!

- Here's some fodder to get your weekend off to a rockin' start.  Check out MP3s from Elliot Smith (a gazillion live covers from Oasis to the Beatles to Dylan...pretty awesome), The Little Ones (Crystal Castles remix!), Johnny Cash, Sea Wolf, LCD Soundsystem (Remix!), Panda Bear, Ted Leo and Andrew Bird.

- And finally, Demetri Martin makes my belly hurt!
