BurgerCon: The Lamest Thing Ever

Next weekend, I'm going to Comic-Con, which I hear is awesome.  There are movie stars, dorks in costumes, and amazing parties.  For years now I've heard about it and have wanted to go.  Unfortunately, it's in San Diego, CA, so for some, going to Comic-Con is simply not gonna happen.  However, I'll tell you what the next best thing is NOT -- this hilariously lame promotion from McDonalds:

BurgerCon.  Nice.  It's as though a 45-year-old ad executive was told to watch Adult Swim for a hip new McDonalds campaign.  So he did, and he took careful notes during Aqua Teen Hunger Force (which he hated), and then spewed out this lol-worthy poser-motion (a promotion for posers - it's a new word I invented).  From the Tenacious D wannabe rock vocals to the whole idea that... I mean, since when does "challenging" someone to eat at a McDonalds with you qualify as a convention?  Why not call it a "Burger-Off" or "Burger Smackdown" or anything else?  Anything!  Ugh.

The hilarious thing is that I might be tempted to go to a real burger-con, where different hamburger restaurants have booths and panels and s***.  You get to try burgers from around the world.  I don't know.  But come on.  This thing doesn't even allow you to personalize your invite in any way -- it's just a URL you send someone.  LAME!

*Sigh*  I miss you, Mac Tonight.
