Nixon – Music Director

Nixon was raised on the streets of Chicago, long known for their indie rock chops and DIY aesthetic, where his musical education began at an early age. The City can be kind but it can also be an unforgiving and ruthless mistress, a fact that Nixon learned early on. He saw many an artist succumb to the beast of irrelevance and obscurity; so many in fact, that he vowed to find a place where these voices of creativity and inspiration could be heard by all the world. So the story begins…

In 1995 Nixon packed his bags and moved from the city, south to the fields of Champaign-Urbana where he honed his musical skills under many monikers and perfected the craft of the written word at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. After his brief tenure there, learning all there was to learn from the various vices of college life, Nixon returned to Chicago with a vision of musical equality for all.

Back in Chicago he and a group of like-minded visionaries brought the rock to the masses, while at the same time cultivating relationships in the burgeoning rock scene of the Mid-West. His days were filled with learning “the business” from the inside of the Beast while working at the Chicago Chapter of the GRAMMY Awards, and his nights were a haze of DJ sets and gigs throughout the land.

After years of toil and struggle Nixon felt that his education was complete. He left the GRAMMY’s to join forces with Liquid Generation. Here he felt his vision could truly be realized; here he would create a music section for all of humanity to immerse themselves within. With bags packed, Nixon gathered his various gear and moved from the streets of Chicago to the shores of Los Angeles, with his sights set on conquering another city. He was ready to create a place where the youth of the world could come to discover the undiscovered, hear the unheard and most importantly be the first one to find out about the next big thing. He was ready for Liquid Generation Music.
