Here’s a special encore performance from one of the best bands we have ever had in the LG studios and who have gone on to do quite well this year!

Oliver Future came by the illustrious LG studios to play us some stripped down versions of tunes from their latest record Pax Futura.

Dappled Cities flew all the way from Sydney, Australia just to do a live at LG Acoustic Session! Aren’t they jus the sweetest?! This is a seriously awesome band. For realizes.

Umm yeah. This is actually for real. Dappled Cities took on the classic track by the Bee Gees and nailed it. Do you hear those frickin harmonies? Do you!?

When we first thought up the idea for the Live at LG acoustic sessions this is pretty much what we had in mind. One guy, one keyboard and goose bumps!

Rohner from Division Day dropped by the studio with a vintage keyboard he borrowed from a friend and proceeded to play some super stripped out versions of tracks from Division Day’s Beartrap Island record.

This week we had Tokyo Police Club in the studio where they played us a handful of songs including this pretty impressive version of ‘Your English is Good.’

TPC were so good we just had to give youa bonus track this week. Here they are with an acoustic version of ‘Shoulders and Arms.’

Piebald are a group from Boston who have been cranking out crazy catchy pop/punk for a good number of years. While this might not be acoustic, it’s probably the closest they get!

Scissors For Lefty came by the studio and played us a stripped down version of their hit song “Ghetto Ways.” We dare you to try and get it out of your head. You will fail.

You’ve probably heard Cary Brothers before and didn’t even know it, as he had a song in some movie called Garden State that apparently changed people’s lives. In any case his new record called Who You Are is more deserving of your dollars than some silly soundtrack!

This week we were psyched to have Jim Fairchild drop by the studio to play a couple of songs from the new All Smiles record, Ten Readings of a Warning. Enjoy!

Robbers On High Street have been kicking around the New York rock scene for a number of years now, but if you ask us they’re going to be a household name after the release of their latest record, Grand Animals, due out on July 24th. So yeah this is a sneak peek into what the album has in store, and you heard it at Live at LG first!

Chrisopher Blue has apparently been soaked in booze. Was he drunk during his session? No, BUT every review I have read about him compares his songs to Tom Waits and says he has “blues-soaked vocals.” I dunno about all that, but I do know this is one helluva performance. Watch it…now!

Acute are a trio from Los Angeles who play pop music that is equally melodic and hooky. One song will have roaring power pop guitars and the next will lull you into submission with lush string arrangements and harpsichord solos! Check out their debut LP, “Arms Around a Stranger,” out now on Help Records.

Mando Diao have been a favorite here at LG for some time now. We actually had a bunch of people from the office head out to the Troubadour to see them live last month. Needless to say we were all pretty psyched when the band stopped by for a session, and they didn’t disappoint. Here’s the first of three songs they played from their new record Ode to Ochrasy.

Well I don’t know if you can really call this an acoustic performance, but either way it’s pretty frickin’ entertaining. The Harlem Shakes are one of those bands where the term “collective” actually applies. This was one of three songs they played for us from their debut EP titled Burning Birthdays. Look for them on tour this Summer!

Yeah that’s an acoustic guitar that J Mascis is playing the holy hell out of, but he’s added some bells and whistles like only Dinosaur Jr. can.
