It sure is nice to hear a band play Rock N’ Roll how it used to be…fun and upbeat. If you think you’ve heard this song before, it’s because you have. It’s a cover of the Beatles classic from their 1964 record Meet The Beatles!

This track is from the band’s forthcoming album titled Ameritown due out this June on Suretone records. We asked the band if they were talking about Basketball or Hockey when they named the band. It was hockey. Can you guess the team? Bring on the rock!

This track is an acoustic version of the first track off of the Mezzanine Owls debut album called Slingshot Echoes. We love it when a band comes in and does a version of a song that’s a lot different from the studio recording. According to frontman Scott Stevens, this song was kinda the catalyst for their new record. Sometimes inspiration comes from the least expected places, but when it works it works. It’s always cool when a band covers a song, but also put their own stamp on it.

This week in the LG Studios we have a band originally from Canton, Oh called Lovedrug. They played three songs for us from their sophomore record called Everything Starts Where IT Ends which will be in stores on March 6th. The band is currently on Militia Group and will be touring a ton for the new record. Go see them, you won’t be disappointed!

The Broken West are a band from Los Angeles who play a brand of good times power pop. A funny thing happened when they came by the LG Studios for an acoustic session. They transformed into a group that sounded more like The Band, then Cheap Trick. Pretty impressive stuff. Check them out in the LG MusicPlayer as well.

MummiTroll - "Ursa Major" - This really marginal Russian band has managed to produce one of the most bizarre, crazy, amazing, sexy music videos we've ever seen!

Silversun Pickups have really blown up over last year, what with their single getting heavy national radio play and even making an appearance on Late Night with David Letterman. So we were blown away when frontman Brian Aubert said he’d come by the LG Studios to play us some songs. We saw first hand why everyone is talking about this band…one of the best Studio Sessions we have ever had!

This video reminds me of last summer. That was a sexy, sexy summer. Mmmm… tomatoes.

Midnight Movies are without a doubt one of the best bands in the Los Angeles area. We somehow tricked them to come to the LG Studios and play us some of that good times music. Channeling the Velvet Underground never sounded (or looked) so good.

The SLIP are a trio from Boston and Montreal who sound like there’s at least 6 people in the band. When they were in out studio we kept having to double check and make sure there were only three of them. It’s true. Anyway, they came in and treated us to an acoustic-y rendition of their single called “Children of December.”

The Sin Destroyers are "the Christianest rock band," and will obliterate any doubt of their rock prowess with the video for "Gifts to the World."

Two of the boys from Sparta hit the ghetto=fabulous LG Studios and treated us to an early morning acoustic jam of "Taking Back Control." Pretty amazing to hear it all stripped down.

The Village Green are a rock band originally from Portland, OR. If you like the Rock the way it used to be then they are right up your alley. Check out this guitar and piano version of the track “Life On The Run.”
