Pauly Shore Punch-Out FAKED (Unfortunately)

This morning I was very happy to learn that Pauly Shore got punched in the face.  Not because I hate Pauly Shore, but because it's funny to hear that Pauly Shore got punched in the face.  He was performing at a club in Texas, and a roudy heckler came up on stage.  In the video, you almost feel sorry for Pauly Shore (as close as you can get).

Now word is coming out that the video was staged.  Pauly told the police he was gonna do a "skit" (read: publicity stunt), and that the officer should play along.  Apparently, Pauly wasn't hurt at all.

Which brings me to how I feel this very second.  I can't believe I'm about to write this, but even while watching Biodome and Jury Duty, I have never been more ashamed of spending time thinking about Pauly Shore.  Planting a funny heckler for a routine is one thing, pretending to get punched out for the PR is another.  If you're going to turn your life into a giant freak show for publicity, Pauly, you have to learn that there's a time and a place for that. 

It's called primetime on VH1.
