Paris Hilton Goes To Jail - Time To Be Smug About It!
-
Do
you hear that joyful choir singing to the heavens? That's a chorus of
celebrity bloggers singing "Hallelujah, we've got a hilarious punching
bag for the entire summer!" Paris Hilton going to jail is like Turbo Christmas for bloggers, and the internet is buzzing with jokes about Paris wearing orange this season, and how her next sex tape will not be voluntary.
Well, I say... me too! Why not? I like bandwagons as much as the next blogger, and frankly, this news makes me feel great.
Paris Hilton is famous, and I'm not, so it's gratifying for my ego to
know that if a famous person drives on a suspended license, she'll go
to jail, just like me: a nobody! Ha ha! This is a real
victory for the common man, to see a famous person get carted off to
jail. We did it! We won! PARIS IS GOING TO JAIL! Viva la Revolution!
Wait, don't break out the pinata just yet.

Wasn't it us who watched her awful Fox reality show? Followed her every move in People?
Bought her sex tapes? Bought her "album" (if you can really call it
that)? She was always rich, but we made her famous and a whole lot
richer. We celebrate Paris for being a wealthy, drunken party whore,
and then when she gets busted for acting like a rich, drunken party
whore, we couldn't be happier. Why do we build these people up and
happily watch them crumble? It's like playing Jenga with a
2-year-old. They're happy to build the tower with you, and then
without warning, they destroy it randomly. "Kyle, that was NOT
appropriate behavior!"
Am I saying this is somehow the bloggers' / peoples' fault? Oh, hell no!
She only has herself to blame -- she took our love for her drunken
stupid behavior as a mandate to do it more. The lesson for her is not
to believe in your own hype. However, if you snicker as Paris gets
handcuffed and carted away in a paddy wagon, remember this -- you
encouraged her.
YES, YOU!!! YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and me too.)
