Miss Carolina Explains Her Now Infamous Answer
-
This weekend, a video of beauty pageant contestant Miss Carolina went super-viral on YouTube. The girl tried to answer a question about Americans not knowing geography by fluctuating between a rambling non-answer and rehearsed keywords like "education," "future," and "South Africa." Watch and see:
However, in the interest of fairness, here's an official statement by Miss Carolina herself, explaining her answer:
"Hi, I'm Miss Carolina. So... I know a lot of you, uh... think I'm not very intelligent... uhm... when responding... to... stuff. However, I am, uh, incredibly smart... because I believe in helping children, uh, who don't have money... uhmm... for... tools... for... their education... vouchers.... I also feel like global warming, which is a real problem, comes from, uhmm, you know, when the greenhouse... plants... we need... to stop them. If I had... uhmmmmmm... more research to stop the AIDS virus... I'd support it. That's how I know how, I, Miss Carolina, would respect all people -- so why can't we... uhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... all... Hillary can be our next president, even though she's a woman. Thank you."
Well said.
