Last I Heard Those Aren't Jokes

Jay Leno is suing another comedy writer for stealing some of his material. What Leno doesn’t realize is that his “jokes” are what most other people consider to be factual statements or at best opinions. Examples include:

-So, did ya hear about the guy who robbed a bank in his pajamas? Last I heard you were supposed to wear your pajamas when you go to bed not when you rob a bank.

-So, did ya hear about Brittany Spears not wearing any underwear? Last I heard you were supposed to wear underware.

-So, did ya hear about Michael Richards using the n-word at a comedy show? Last I heard you weren’t supposed to say the n-word at comedy shows.

The person Leno is suing is actually just someone he overheard having a casual conversation with a friend.
