Depp In Japan: When Will The Japanese Stop Loving Us?

Check out this amazing video of Japanese school children serenading Johnny Depp with pirate music and Disney songs.  It's... well, amazing!

...and it brings up an interesting question: can this really last?  I mean, I can't think of a Japanese star that would ever get this elaborate a reception from American school children on TV.  The thing you always hear is that Japanese people are infatuated with American culture & people -- that anime was inspired by Disney, and that your friend with blonde hair went to Japan and everyone went crazy for her.  Granted, we dig their culture too (at least, American nerds do), but the affection feels lopsided.  That being the case, sooner or later this love affair has to end.  They're gonna get sick of constantly eating our fast food and seeing our celebrities.  Right?

Won't they? 

Well, then again, if we're not sick of our celebrities, why should they be?
