White Stripes: The Ballet?

When I think of The White Stripes, delicate, dainty and danceable are not words that come to mind.  That’s why I am not Joby Talbot(well, that’s not the only reason, but this isn’t a metaphysical discussion).  Talbot, a former member of the Divine Comedy, apparently thinks outside the box and has composed a ballet set to the music of Jack and Meg, taken mostly from Aluminum, an album of classical interpretation of Stripes’ songs.  Unfortunately, you have to go to England to see this and that would break my strict “Never Go To Europe” policy.

Check out NME for the full story. As far as Aluminium goes, the album is now available through record’s website as a hard copy (in an extremely limited capacity) or for we computer savvy folk, a digital download.  You can check out some of the tracks here too and I have to say they sound pretty good.  This story got me thinking, I miss The White Stripes.  When is this Raconteurs thing going to be over?  Does anybody else wish Jack would stick with Meg and leave this side project thing behind?  Let me know what you think.

You think that's wierd?  How about the White Stripes going hip-hop?!
