The Karen O Indie Rock Soap Opera

Yesterday the internets were ablaze with the news that someone had posted a bunch of MP3s of very early Karen O (singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) songs.  The session and subsequent tracks has been dubbed KO at Home, as it sounds as if the songs were recorded at home on a small 4-Track.  So you would think this would be the end of it, but you would be oh so wrong.  You see the Demo CD was found at the old apartment of TV on The Radio member Dave Stiek who seems pretty pissed about the entire thing.  He has a lengthy diatribe over on his blog that is pretty hilarious for the altogether "indieness" of it.  Wait. It gets better.  Apparently the person that actually posted the tracks wrote into Stereogum and feels bad about the entire thing, which led to an entire slew of comments that will make you wonder if indie rockers are really as retarded as they sound when commenting on Stereogum.  The entire thing is more dramatic then an episode of Grey's Anatomy. I hear Mirimax is looking to obtain rights to the story to make a full length motion picture about it.  Courtney Love as Karen O would be so awesome.

Here are a couple of the demos if you are curious...
