- SHOCKER: TMZ reports that Britney Spears has reported back to rehab! LG Music would like to wish Brit a speedy recovery and would like to point out that if Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs went and shaved her head the indie world would hail her as a true artist. Then again, I guess she doesn't have two small children. Damn! I tried. In other Britney news, Idolator has an
interesting theory about Spears working for the Bush White House. Hey, I wouldn't put anything past this administration. And finally, the Britney quote of the day comes via Stereogum and is from an unlikely source. When asked about Britney's head-shaving incident, Jim Carrey remarked: "Hey, they freaked out when Dylan went electric, right?" That is good stuff on SO many levels.
- I'm sure you've all heard of the 7 Wonders of the world, right? You know like the Pyramids, the Great Wall of China and pizza. Well BWE has a feature on the 7 Wonders of the Celebrity world, that include Seal's face, Lohan's yoohoo and five other remarkable acts of nature. Kind of. [BWE]
- If you are some type of superhuman freak whose ears can be subjected to listening to "Crazy" even one more time, then you need to head on over to MOKB for eleven different versions of the most over-rated song of all time. You masochist, you. [MOKB]
- Check out an insane week of new releases, including records from Black Lips, Elvis Perkins, The Frames, ELO and Pop Levi. [largeheartedboy]
- The 2007 SXSW schedule has been announced and it is pure insanity. Can you ever have too much BBQ, Lonestar and Indie Rock? I think not. The official SXSW site has MP3s from every performing artists, but the good people over at Hear Ya! have but together a much more manageable list. [Hear Ya!]
- MP3 Roundup! Some pretty great music is floating around out there from Bright Eyes, Apollo Sunshine, Ted Leo, Oasis, Lo-Fi-Fnk, Of Montreal covering the Beatles and GUNS N' ROSES...maybe.
- And finally, just because it's frickin hilarious:
