Patti Smith covers Nirvana, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones and more!

Patti Smith is releasing a record called Twelve on April 24th featuring covers of twelve of her favorite songs....well we're assuming she likes the songs.  The record is pretty mellow with a lot of acoustic and slide guitars and vocally Patti Smith is sounding as good as she ever has.  Find out why over at Stereogum who has a streaming version of her cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" which you can grab an MP3 of below.  The best part of this cover is that for the first time you can actually understand the lyrics...but that might be because Smith added a bunch of her own poetry to the song.  We all know that Cobain just made different lyrics up each time!
