Lindsay Lohan's Rehab Mix Tape!
-
As all of you know by now, Lindsay Lohan checked herself into rehab last week. While she might still be giving interviews and leaving to go to "AA meetings," she is for the most part undergoing treatment and detox for her various addictions. In times of strife, often times people will look for inspiration in the words of others through art, film, literature and music. Well here at Liquid Generation we were able to get our hands on Lindsay's official Rehab Mix. Yeah it's pretty amazing and as you’ll hear runs the gambit of emotions that many recovering addicts feel. All I know is it makes me want to get really drunk. WOOO!
1. The Happy Mondays - 24 Hour Party People (MP3) YouTube Video
This track is obviously Lohan's theme song and we're guessing she plays it before heading to her various "anonymous" meetings. If you think about it, her and
Sean Ryder have a lot in common (Rehab, excessive drug use, mental illness and hanging out with people who like to dance), so maybe they'll hook up when the Happy Mondays play Coachella this April.
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "With the twenty four hour party people, plastic face can't smile the white out."
2. Nouvelle Vague - Too Drunk To F**k (MP3) YouTube Video (Original Dead Kennedys Version)
Lindsay identifies with the subject matter here because last Friday after a night out at Privilege she showed up for a booty call at Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz's trailer hoping to get some emo love, but instead of getting sloppy 23rds from good ol' Pete she puked all over herself and binged on pixie sticks and french fries.
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "Went to a party / I danced all night / I drank 16 beers / And I started up a fight / But now I'm jaded / You're out of luck / I'm rolling down the stairs / Too Drunk to F**k"
3. The Offspring - I Wanna Be Sedated (MP3) YouTube Video (Original version by The Ramones)
Lindsay thinks this track is just so hilarious, because it's ironic that she wants to "be sedated" even though she's in rehab. What we find amusing is that she's always saying how much she loves the Ramones and how punk she is, yet has no idea that the version she has been listening to is by The Offspring.
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated / Nothin' to do no where to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated / Just get me to the airport put me on a plane / Hurry hurry hurry before I go insane / I can't control my fingers I can't control my brain"
4. The Lemonheads - My Drug Buddy (MP3) YouTube Video
This is another sentimental one as it reminds Lindsay of her Mom...for obvious reasons. It takes her back to the good old days when the paparazzi didn't follow her everywhere and she was free to just hand out with "Moms" and have a cocktail, line & spliff and just laugh about how great the future was going to be.
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "I love my drug buddy / My drug, my drug buddy"
5. Mr. T - No Dope No Drugs (MP3) YouTube Video
Like a lot of people Lindsay found strength in the words of that great mohawk-sporting-gold chain-wearing prophet Mr. T So in times of weakness Lindsay dials this track up, dials out a line, lights a cigarette and cranks the volume up for all the other troubled young starlets staying at the Wonderland Center to hear. Truly inspiring.
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "You can say goodbye to a long happy life, if you shoot, snort or drag / The suckers will the winners won't the choice is yours to decide / Mr. T don't snort, Mr. T don't drag, I'm happy just being me / Now play it smart, stay in school and leave the dope to the freaks!"
6. The Fitness - Chauffeur (MP3) YouTube Video
Often times a song will remind us of a specific time, place or person. This jam does all three for Lindsay as it brings to mind the good times she shared with friends last summer when her chauffeur Hiberto would drive the crazy kids all over Los Angeles. Remember that no matter how wasted you are it's always a good idea to have your driver on hand to take you to the next party.
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "Back and forth on the 101, yeah I'll go to East LA for you / And on our way to the hollywood squares, you might kill your lover in a game of truth or dare / But you cant be late to your award ceremony, so I’ll drop you off first and then I’ll dump the body / Chauffeur, Can you take me where I need to go? / Chauffeur, Do you know where I can score some blow?
7. Huey Lewis & The News - I Want A New Drug (MP3) YouTube Video
For a long time Lindsay hated this song, but when she heard it was cool to like Phil Collins again she figured Huey Lewis had to be fair game as well. Of course we're wondering if she's ever listened to the song past the first verse, as it kinda really doesn't have anything to do with "a new drug" at all but rather a metaphor for being in love. Oh who are we kidding, we all know all Lindsay hears is "Lindsay Lohan you are indestructible. Lindsay Lohan you are a sexy little bitch."
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "I want a new drug / One that won't make me sick / One that won't make me crash my car / Or make me feel three feet thick / I want a new drug / One that won't hurt my head / One that won't make my mouth too dry / Or make my eyes too red"
8. Spank Rock w/ Pase Rock - Lindsay Lohan's Revenge (MP3) YouTube Video
One might think that Lindsay is being quite vain by including a song with her name as the title, but the song actually serves as a reminder to Lindsay to make sure to wear undergarments when leaving the house. See a lot of times Lindsay will have a couple of cocktails while in the shower and then forget to put on all her clothes. Now she just has this song play on repeat while getting ready to go out and she never has to worry about exposing herself to the unsuspecting public. Nice move Linds!
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "Why you showing them coochie lips, gettin' up out of your car? / Paparazzi hanging all around you bi**h, you know you're a superstar"
9. The Verve - The Drugs Don't Work (MP3) YouTube Video
Lindsay plays this song whenever she's feeling like getting high, to remind herself that the drugs aren't going to make her feel better. Gotcha! Totally kidding. She really plays this song when she’s at her dealer's house and is unhappy with the quality of drugs she's just purchased.
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "Now the drugs don't work / They just make it worse / But I know I'll see your face again"
10. The Webb Brothers - Cocaine (MP3)
We all need a song to go to sleep to, and this little lullaby knocks Lindsay out faster than a liter of vodka and a handful of valium. I guess there's something soothing and comforting about knowing that even in her dreams, Lindsay Lohan parties.
Lindsay's Favorite Lyric: "All the cocaine in the world / All the cocaine in the world"
